Face Masks

Hi Dabblers!

We've gathered some mask making tutorials for you!

Our instructor Martha put together a How to Make a Face Mask photo tutorial for a simple pleated mask. You can find a video tutorial of the same style of mask here: https://www.deaconess.com/How-to-make-a-Face-Mask as well as this video showing an easy way to make the pleats: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRdpEqwuF_0&feature=youtu.be

If you have trouble finding elastic, you can substitute 1" wide strips of jersey. We actually prefer the jersey for comfort for our own masks. Attaching 15" fabric or ribbon ties to each corner works as well. You can also sew a longer strap along either the long or short side as long as it results in 15" ties. (For more details, you can see here: https://www.instructables.com/id/AB-Mask-for-a-Nurse-by-a-Nurse/)

There are a variety of mask options and we encourage you to make any style that you prefer. Here are some other options:

At times of crisis, we always see quilters and sewists looking for ways to engage and help. If you would like to donate masks to front line workers you can join the Masks for Everyday Heroes facebook group, or send/drop off directly to us and we will coordinate with the group for you. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far!

If you would like to purchase a mask for yourself or a friend you can do so through our website here or for larger orders or special fabric requests please send us an email inquiry to info@dabbleandstitch.com

 Stay safe everyone!
