Week 3: Block B (2 Blocks)

I am so excited to see all of your amazing versions of block A!

Growing up we always had lots of round bulbs on our Christmas tree, and as an adult I ended up having multiple sets depending on what color scheme I used for my tree each year.  My favorite sets were purple on a small silver tree, and pink on a larger white tree! When designing this quilt I knew that I wanted to have some fun with round bulbs, so block B is a round bauble with a different centralized design.

    Fabric Placement

The FPP templates are marked with fabric placement suggestions, but please feel free to make this project your own!

If you are interested in experimenting with fabric/color placement, I encourage you to try out your choices prior to stitching using the downloadable coloring sheets included with your pattern. You can access them on The (not so) Dramatic Life’s Festive Baubles page using the password printed on page two of your pattern.

Fussy Cutting Potential on Block B

This block is adorable on its own, and fussy cutting takes it even further.  Check out the awesome striped fussy cutting Lovingly Lissa did on her blocks! She is doing a set of placemats with the blocks, and I highly recommend following her on Instagram @Lovinglylissa

If you are interested in trying fussing cutting on the triangles of this block, I suggest making an extra copy of the block template, and create a fussy cutting template by cutting out one of the triangles with a quarter inch seam allowance around it.

That's it for week 3, we'll be back next week for Block C! We can’t wait to see what you make this week, so please remember to post your creations using the hashtag #festivebaublesquiltalong and tagging @DabbleandStitch
